Lorenzo Cosi

Born in June 1996, Lorenzo Cosi begun playing cello at the age of six at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, studying with Sandra Bacci, and getting with her his Bachelor degree in December 2015 with top marks and honour’s mention. As chamber musician and soloist, he is winner of many scholarships of the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole as well as first prizes of various international competitions held in Italy. After being an active student of the Pavia Cello Academy in 2016, he continued his studies at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano (CH) with Prof. Enrico Dindo, obtaining his Master of Arts in Music Performance in January 2020 with top parks.
He played in venues such as the Mozarteum of Salzburg, Teatro Diana of Napoli, Teatro Caio Melisso in Spoleto (during the "Due Mondi" Festival), for the "De Sono" Association in Torino, in the Auditorium "Stelio Moro" of RSI in Lugano, at the "Dino Ciani Festival" in Cortina d’Ampezzo, at the Amici della Musica di Modena, at the Mantova Chamber Music Festival, "Suoni Riflessi" Festival in Firenze, Teatro Regio of Parma in the «Verdi Festival». He gave recitals with piano in Switzerland, in Basel - for the "For young musicians" Foundation - and in Sent, in the "Due Mondi" Festival in Spoleto, at the W.Walton Foundation in Ischia, in the «Sala Mozart» of the Accademia Filarmonica in Bologna.
In his chamber music activities, he enriched his path getting inspired by lessons and masterclasses of prestigious chamber music groups and personalities, such as the Quartetto di Cremona, Quartetto Klimt, Kuss Quartett, Cuarteto Casals, Tokyo String Quartet, S. Sasaki, B. Giuranna, L. Aguera, W. Yang, C. Greensmith. He collaborates and performs with artists such as Sir P.M. Davies, C. Austin, A. Tamayo, A. Lucchesini, A. Rebaudengo, K. Sahatci, L. Borrani, M. Quarta.
He attended masterclasses held by U. Clerici, E. Bronzi, G. Gnocchi, E. Dindo, A. Polo, A. Meneses, F. Helmerson, T. Svane, C. Hagen, Jens P. Maintz (during the Sommer Akademie of the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Tibor Varga Academy in Sion, the Virtuoso e Belcanto Festival in Lucca).
He collaborates with «Orchestra Leonore» of Pistoia - being also involved in the chamber music project "Floema"- with «I Solisti di Pavia», the «Suoni Riflessi» Ensemble in Firenze, the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova. Holder of the ESKAS (excellence scholarship of the Swiss Confederation), he has been member of the Quartetto Leonardo since April 2019, and with this group he is currently enrolled at the second year of the Kammermusik Master in the class of the Artemis Quartett at the UDK in Berlin.
